Director of Bands: Cameron Yassaman

Cameron Yassaman received his B.A. in Instrumental Music Education from California State University Fresno. There, he studied percussion under Dr. Matthew Darling and conducting under the direction of Dr. Gary P. Gilroy. While at Fresno State, Cameron performed with the Wind Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble, Orchestra, Jazz Ensemble, and Marching Band. Cameron received his teaching credential and a Masters Degree in Multicultural Education from National University. 

2017 will be Cameron's third year at Grover Cleveland Charter High School and 8th year teaching. In those three years the Concert Band has received consistent and consecutive ratings of Superior at music festivals, the Jazz Ensemble has introduced its ongoing Jazz Night series featuring multiple sets of live music and a different guest artist each month, the Music Department has partnered with the Theatre Department to offer a live pit orchestra at every spring musical, and the Marching Band has quadrupled in size and performed its first field show in competition in several years.  

Color Guard Instructor: Leo Medrano
Leo Medrano has been involved with the marching arts since he was in 8th grade, starting out on the Tuba. As he went into high school he learned about Color Guard and thought it would be interesting to try something new.

8 Years later, Leo has completed 8 consecutive seasons of performing both with his high school and independent guard groups. "Performing has definitely helped me as an individual to learn more about myself and has has given me to confidence to explore new activities. I hope to share my love of performing with my students."

Percussion Instructor: David Green
David Green has been playing drums and percussion since he was 9 years old. He received his AA in Percussion Performance with emphasis in Music Business from the Musician’s Institute in Hollywood, California. In high school, he spent four years as part of the percussion section in the marching and concert band at Saugus High School as well as three years in the jazz band and four in the district honor band. He was also a part of the College of the Canyons Jazz Band.

He spent seven years as the drum line instructor at Alemany High School. He also records and tours professionally with his band, Moonraker, with whom he has toured the entire country several times as well as parts of Canada and Mexico.
